pixel graphics

these are pixel graphics: tiling backgrounds, bullets, icons, blinkies, buttons, dividers etc. pixiv, deviantart, and tumblr are great places to find all of these. out of respect for the artists, try to get things tagged #free to use or #f2u

harm reduction

This is the one part where I reserve the right to get a little preachy. just a little bit.

    drugs!

  • the drug user's bible very long book on harm reduction and safety practices when using drugs, as well as general information and dosage guidelines for hundreds of different substances. completely free to download.
  • drugs.com drug interaction checker has information for thousands of different medications, herbal medicines, and recreational drugs. good to check any prescriptions you have or to know what drugs don't play well together
  • suicide intervention

Quick note that calling the cops is a really terrible move when trying to help people at their lowest moments. Not only does it do nothing to address the core issue of why it is they feel that way, the additional stress of talking to the cops and then being forced into an environment where you have no freedom or connection to the outside world (a psych ward) is a very traumatic experience in its own right for people. thus, these resources do not involve the police/"crisis intervention" people, or psychiatric institutions. instead, the best approach when someone is suicidal (especially when that someone is you) is having an open ear to listen to you who gets it and treats you like a human being.
  • helping your friends who sometimes wanna die maybe not die (zine) a zine dispelling common myths about suicidality, speaking to a suicidal person, guidelines for discussing suicidality, and a new way to approach the whole topic. the art and writing style are very 2018 portland kweer which can be pretty grating but it's the best resource i've ever seen that isn't all "uhh idk call the cops"
  • alt2su support groups peer-run support groups for people experiencing suicidality to openly discuss their feelings and work together to change them. has several sub-groups for different demographics.
  • wildflower alliance discordwildflower alliance is an organization run by people who have experienced mental health issues and trauma for others in the same boat. this is their discord in case you want to connect with others Going Through It
  • hotlines & warmlines that don't call the cops

  • warmline.org(US-based) hotline/warmline directory
  • fireside project (US-based) trip-sitting hotline, call or text available. Will not call crisis resources or the cops
  • wildflower alliance warnlinewarmline for general mental health troubles
  • don't call the police(US-based) list of hotlines that don't call cops. many are focused around specific demographics or predicaments.
  • blackline(US-based) hotline/warmline by & for the black community
  • lgbt hotline(US-based) hotline/warmline by & for the LGBT community

  • nwf native plant finder Alternatively, if u like butterflies and have outdoor space, plant some stuff native to *your* area!
